Mobility opportunities for students, lecturers and staff

Would you like to get to know a different (education) system, acquire intercultural skills, improve your foreign language skills or simply enrich your time at university with a very special experience?

At the PHTG, you can study for a semester at one of around 30 partner universities in Europe or overseas in all degree programmes and receive credit for the coursework you have completed there. Shorter exchange experiences are also possible as part of international study weeks and voluntary internships at schools abroad.

Visiting exchange students

Are you studying at one of our partner universities? And would you like to spend one or two semesters at PHTG? If so, apply to spend an exchange semester in Kreuzlingen! Here, you can study without borders and benefit from hands-on courses, a friendly atmosphere, individual support and the fact that everything is close at hand – both inside and outside the university.

We offer a wide range of modules, including courses in English. You can also choose individual modules at the University of Konstanz thanks to our close collaboration with this institution. In addition, our offer for visiting students includes a three-week internship, German courses and a room in a centrally located shared flat. We also offer you a bicycle, so you can get to PHTG quickly and also explore the area around Lake Constance after class.

Our short film shows why an exchange semester at PHTG is an unforgettable, rewarding experience:

Partnership with the University of Konstanz

As the only teacher education university in Switzerland, we have established a close relationship with a top university in the European union. Thanks to our geographical proximity to the German citiy of Konstanz, our students benefit from this cooperation in various ways.

As a student on the Secondary Education I degree programme, you can benefit from the University of Konstanz’s excellence at various academic fields. A ‘European region’ track is available within the Secondary Education II degree programme, while the Early Childhood Master degree programme is offered as a dual degree.

The Thurgau university of teacher education and the University of Konstanz have also been working on establishing the Binational School of Education since 2015. This project will have a lasting impact on teacher education in the region.
