What is this week about?
Every classroom is a meeting point of languages and cultures. Teachers negotiate different expectations of what good communication looks like and work with children and families whose first language isn't the language of schooling. This week helps you develop the intercultural communication skills to deal with this diversity productively — and to see it as a resource.
Learning happens formally and informally, together with Swiss and other international students. You will work through education-specific examples in a rotating set of workshops, then keep the conversation going while playing, doing a treasure hunt, eating and baking together.
You will leave with practical strategies, a fresh perspective on your own cultural assumptions and insight into Swiss education and culture.

Students completing the entire programme from Monday morning (9am) to Friday afternoon (4pm) receive 2 Credits.
Language
The main language of communication during this week is English. However, participants can make use of their entire linguistic repertoire in order to communicate, learn and negotiate meaning across linguistic and cultural boundaries.
Costs
Participation is free of charge, including all lunches and one typical Swiss dinner. For the full-day mountain excursion on Friday we ask for a contribution of CHF 40.
Accommodation
We will help you find and book suitable accommodation at CHF 50 per night. Should free homestays with local families become available, we will allocate them on a first-come, first-served basis.
Transport
It is recommended to fly into Zurich airport from where there are many (direct) trains to Kreuzlingen. Make sure to also check out train and bus connections Kreuzlingen/Konstanz.
